SNAP TO! Bolt Action Event
This is the League of Ancient’s second Bolt Action event of the year. There will be two rounds played on the day. For this event we will be using a couple of missions from the Bolt Action Alliance Missions Pack which will be released after army lists have been submitted. Armies are limited to 1,100 points with a 14 dice cap. Army lists are to be sent to richafricanus@gmail.com by midnight on 6 September. In keeping with the casual spirit of the League’s Bolt Action events, we will ask players to adjust lists that are considered too “gamey”. Entry fee for the event is $15 for members and $20 for non-members payable into the club bank account (details on the website under Membership). As before there will be prizes for everyone. General d'Armee Napoleonic Demo Day
If you’ve been searching for a different Napoleonic rule set there’s an opportunity to join a game of General d'Armee2 at the League of Ancients on 11 October.
Two Peninsula War games will be on offer. One in 15mm and one in 28mm. If you’d like to participate, please message Darryl Cox to register your interest. If you already have figures, feel free to bring them. If not, figures will be available.
League of Ancients DBA Cup
The League of Ancients, in conjunction with the Monday Knights, are proud to present the DBA Cup, a DBA v3.0 tournament.
The DBA Cup will be held on Sunday 8th November 2026, at the Caulfield RSL, 4 St. Georges Road, Elsternwick, VIC, 3185. Check-in begins at 10:00am and the first round will start at 10:30am.
The tournament will run for five rounds, each round will be a maximum of 60 minutes, with 10 minutes between each round. There will be a longer break after the second round for lunch. First round pairings will be random, with following rounds using Swiss Chess pairings. The entry fee will be $15 for League of Ancients members, and $20 for non-members. Payments details can be found on the League of Ancients website under Membership. The tournament will be limited to 20 players..
We will be using DBA v3.0 rules with 15mm scale miniatures (40mm frontage), playing on 70cm x 70cm boards. Players may select any army from any of the four books in the DBA v3.0 rulebook. Please bring appropriate terrain for your chosen army, as dictated by their terrain type. We will use the standard Deployment rules from page 8 of the rulebook.
Players will field the same 12 elements of their chosen army each round, and individual terrain pieces may be chosen by the defender at the beginning of each round after both players’ armies have been revealed. Camps that do not have camp followers or are not garrisoned by one of your army’s 12 elements will be considered undefended.
The standard method of deciding a winner on page 12 of the DBA v3.0 rulebook will be used. Scoring will be according to theCanCon standard and is as follows:
The winner will receive 8 points for being a humble winner
The loser will receive:
1 point for being a gracious loser
1 point for each of the opponent’s elements killed (max 3 points)
1 point if the opponent’s general was killed
1 point for capturing the opponent’s camp
In the event of a draw (no winner within the allocated time) both players will receive:
1 point for each of the opponent’s elements killed (max 3 points)
1 point if the opponent’s general was killed
1 point for capturing the opponent’s camp

Victorian Ancients Championship
The League of Ancients is proud to once again be hosting the Victorian Ancients Championship. This will be an ADLG tournament on the 21st & 22nd of November 2026. The tournament will be held at the Caulfield RSL, 4 St Georges Rd, Elsternwick.
Players will choose an army between the dates of 310AD and 700AD and must be from the following list. Allies can only be selected within these parameters as well. Armies are to be no more than 200 points.

The tournament will be held over 4 rounds using the ADLG V4 rules and army lists. The first round will commence at 10.30am on each day and the second round at 2.00pm. Each round will go for 2.5 hours plus 3-18 minutes of random time. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so we can confirm numbers and the draw.
15mm armies are to be used and should accurately depict the troops they represent. Various loan armies are available if required. Please contact the tournament organiser if you need an army. The Club has some terrain available for use but players should bring their own terrain where possible.

Victorius - LOA Demo Game
Come and join in a Bolt Action participation game hosted by the League of Ancients at Victorius 2026. Can the US Marines dislodge the well-entrenched fanatical Japanese defenders? Whether you want to play all day or just move some units and throw dice for 10 minutes, we would love to see you. The venue is the Box Hill Town Hall and we will be located in the main hall.
13th Victorian Napoleonic Championships
This will be a 4 round tournament using the Glory is Fleeting Napoleonic Rules and Lists v1.
Army size is 1,000 points and the figure scale is 15/18mm figures.
Entry fee is $30 for members and $40 for non-members ($15 & $20 for one day only)
Loan armies are available.

SAGA One Day Event
This SAGA event held at League of Ancients will be two tournament scenarios designed for players of all skill levels. With only 2 rounds it will be a bloody race to the top as you lay waste to other aspiring armies in a similar age. Scored rounds will mean a competitive edge, but as there’ll be plenty of axe to face – anyone joining in is guaranteed a session worthy of a SAGA, and the bragging rights to boot!
What is it?
In this event, you’ll be fielding a 6-point army from a Dark Ages army (Age of Vikings or Age of Invasions, along with any Old Friends New Enemies). You may use War Banners (where allowed) or Mercenary/Swords for hire (no more than one point of mercenaries unless those mercenaries are “loyal” to your faction). Legendary Heroes, Artifacts and Acts of Faith are not allowed.

Lardies Demo Day
Our friends from Berwick Wargames Club will be coming to the League to run a day of participation games from the Lardies’ stable of rules. Players will have 6 different games to choose from. No experience of the rules is required and all playing equipment will be supplied.
