Calling all Napoleonic players, old, new and wannabe! Join us for a Glory is Fleeting Napoleonic open day, where not only do you get to learn the rules from some old hands, but you also get to play with 3 different armies on tables representing some of the famous battles from the era. No figures or experience is required, but the format is perfect for old and new players alike.
How will it work?
There will be three 2-hour games (600 points a side) played on 3×4 foot tables.
Game One is a learning game where novice players (including players returning after a long break) will be taught the basic rules in a friendly game against an experienced player.
Games Two and Three is where the Struggle of Nations begins! Players will be divided into Coalition and Empire teams, with novice players matched against each other and veterans against each other. The team with the most points from these two rounds gets their names engraved on our Struggle of Nations floating trophy.
For all rounds, the terrain is pre-set based on actual battles from history, including Austerlitz, Borodino and Waterloo. Armies from these battles will be provided at each table so each round you will move table and get to play with a new army. The games will be objective based, according to the challenges the generals faced in the actual battles.
Army lists and scenarios will be available on the website in the next few weeks.
Everyone who plays will get a $10 discount voucher from Khaki & Green and there will also be some exciting sponsor giveaways.
Entry for the event is $10, all of which will go towards player giveaways.
Please register your interest for the event with Richard at richafricanus@gmail.com by 6 December 2026.
