League of Ancients DBA Cup

The League of Ancients, in conjunction with the Monday Knights, are proud to present the DBA Cup, a DBA v3.0 tournament.

The DBA Cup will be held on Sunday 8th November 2026, at the Caulfield RSL, 4 St. Georges Road, Elsternwick, VIC, 3185. Check-in begins at 10:00am and the first round will start at 10:30am

The tournament will run for five rounds, each round will be a maximum of 60 minutes, with 10 minutes between each round. There will be a longer break after the second round for lunch. First round pairings will be random, with following rounds using Swiss Chess pairings. The entry fee will be $15 for League of Ancients members, and $20 for non-members. Payments details can be found on the League of Ancients website under Membership. The tournament will be limited to 20 players..

We will be using DBA v3.0 rules with 15mm scale miniatures (40mm frontage), playing on 70cm x 70cm boards. Players may select any army from any of the four books in the DBA v3.0 rulebook. Please bring appropriate terrain for your chosen army, as dictated by their terrain type. We will use the standard Deployment rules from page 8 of the rulebook.

Players will field the same 12 elements of their chosen army each round, and individual terrain pieces may be chosen by the defender at the beginning of each round after both players’ armies have been revealed. Camps that do not have camp followers or are not garrisoned by one of your army’s 12 elements will be considered undefended.

The standard method of deciding a winner on page 12 of the DBA v3.0 rulebook will be used. Scoring will be according to theCanCon standard and is as follows:

  • The winner will receive 8 points for being a humble winner

  • The loser will receive:

    • 1 point for being a gracious loser

    • 1 point for each of the opponent’s elements killed (max 3 points)

    • 1 point if the opponent’s general was killed

    • 1 point for capturing the opponent’s camp

  • In the event of a draw (no winner within the allocated time) both players will receive:

    • 1 point for each of the opponent’s elements killed (max 3 points)

    • 1 point if the opponent’s general was killed

    • 1 point for capturing the opponent’s camp

Army lists must be submitted to ezanettin@yahoo.com no later than Monday 2nd November 2026. Your list submission must include the army number, date period, and the 12 elements being used.
